POLICE are appealing for witnesses following a robbery in Nantwich on Wednesday evening, August 13.

The incident happened between 9-9.20pm on a path between Water Lode and the bridge near Nantwich Lake, off Shrewbridge Road.

A young lone female was attacked while walking on her way home, and had her mobile phone stolen. She did not get a clear view of her attacker.

Investigating officer DC Brian Hulse, of Crewe CID, said: "The victim sustained a minor injury in the incident, however it is concerning that someone is prepared to carry out this act on a lone female, and it is important that the offender is apprehended as soon as possible."
