Sir William Stanier Community School is incredibly proud of the achievements of its students this year, with some exceptional GCSE results having been gained.

This is the fourth year the school has seen significant improvements in attainment and progress measures, demonstrating a school which is committed to moving forward with pace.

The school on Coronation Street in Crewe has seen a considerable number of notable performances within the core subjects.

Against a backdrop of turbulence caused by national examination reforms, students have made the best progress in English in the school’s history and compare favourably on a national level.

Students who studied the three separate sciences have also secured the school’s best results and have exceeded national expectations, with 91 per cent of students achieving A* to C in all three rigorous academic subjects, including a 100 per cent A* to C pass rate in physics.

All of the students, staff and parents have worked hard to gain the best outcomes for the students, enabling 100 per cent of them to achieve at least one qualification.

Outstanding successes were achieved by Eva Yuen (10 A*/A grades), Emily Hamilton (eight A*/A grades), Georgia Stockton (seven A*/A grades) and Amy Beswick (six A*/A grades).

Daniel Mears (seven A*/A grades) was thrilled with his results and is now looking forward to starting at South Cheshire College to commence science and maths A-levels to help him on his way to a career in medicine.
