ST Luke’s double decker bus has been given a spruce up by Bentley Motors in Crewe.

A team spent their weekend working to refresh the old London Routemaster.

After five years of busy use by the Winsford hospice, Luke the Bus was ready for some tender loving care and the team kindly offered to freshen it up by repainting the inside, detailing the outside and refitting the veneer panels which were hand crafted by the Bentley Wood Shop.

The hospice has been using the bus for events since 2009 when it was originally refurbished by Bentley.

In this latest round of refreshments, a new ‘London Transport’ decal was applied and new leather side panels were manufactured and fitted in the bus with the Bentley and St Luke’s logos incorporated.

Mark Porter, corporate and community fundraiser said: “Luke our bus looks wonderful, we can’t thank the team enough.

“The bus helps to raise a lot of awareness about the hospice in schools and local communities. Bentley’s continued support for St Luke’s is very much appreciated.”

The bus is currently decked out as St Luke’s ‘Frock Stop’.

At the end of October it will be transformed into a Santas’s Grotto by Petty Pool College in Northwich.

‘Santa on tour’ is available for bookings in the local area.
