NEW regular meetings in Crewe are providing an invaluable service for people who have suffered brain injuries.

Head Injured People in Cheshire (HIP) runs regular get-togethers at coffee shops across Cheshire each month.

The sessions allow people who have suffered brain injuries to come together and share their feelings, providing an invaluable service for connecting survivors, their families and professionals, and providing a sympathetic ear.

A spokesman for HIP said: “The aim is simple – to help and support survivors, along with their families, friends and carers.

“Brain Injury can happen to anyone of us at anytime. We have members such as an officer in Cheshire Police who had a road traffic accident and can no longer can work.

“Professionals who have collapsed at work with a haemorrhage and people involved in bike accidents are other people that we help.

“We organise trips out for our members and offering classes in subjects as ICT, Art therapy and craft making courses.”

The group meet at 11am in Crewe on the first Friday of every month at Hops Belgian café bar in Prince Albert St, Crewe, CW1 2DF.

They also meet in Northwich at 10.45 on the first Tuesday of every month at the Salvation Army Coffee House, Tabley Street, Northwich CW9 5DP. Blue Badge parking is available.
