RETAILER B&M has created up to 60 jobs in Crewe after securing new shop premises at the former JJB shop unit in the town.

The finishing touches are currently being made to the B&M Bargains store which will open on Wednesday, November 5 at 9am.

The retailer said customers can expect a wide variety of branded and own label products from its convenient location in the Market Centre including groceries and toiletries as well as an extensive non-food section including toys, soft furnishings, home and electrical ranges.

The store will also incorporate a prominent ‘seasonal department’ which will change throughout the year to bring customers the best offers and latest products.

The ribbon cutting will be undertaken by Mark Porter from St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice.

St Luke’s is an adult hospice that cares for people from mid and south Cheshire suffering from cancer and other life threatening illnesses. The charity was nominated by the store colleagues themselves and will receive £250 worth of B&M vouchers as a thank you for opening the store.

Mark Porter said: “We are thrilled to be chosen by B&M to open this new store in Crewe. St Luke’s cares for patients and their families at some of the most distressing times of their lives. The support of B&M really will make a difference to patient care and we wish them the very best of luck with the store.”

Store Manager Sharon Darlington said: “B&M is committed to recruiting from the local area and I’m proud we’ve found a great team from in and around Crewe for our first store in the town. We’re really proud to be creating up to 60 jobs and playing our part in the local community.”

“We are excited to get the doors open on Wednesday, November 5 and have a team of colleagues who are willing to provide great value products and world class service to our customers."
