CHESHIRE East's Mayor has visited a bus firm in Crewe to congratulate them on 10 years in the business and open a new depot.

In 2004 D&G Bus started operating from a small depot in Crewe with eight buses.

Exactly ten years later on October 23, a new site with 48 buses and more than 100 staff was officially opened by the Mayor of the Borough of Cheshire East, Clr Wesley Fitzgerald, and the Mayoress, Joan Fitzgerald.

The opening of the new depot provides security to the business and an excellent foundation from which to take the business forward in the years ahead.

In the last 12 months, D&G Bus has invested more than £600,000 in buses, including brand new vehicles. This new depot also represents a substantial investment in the company and in Crewe; a modern fleet needs modern facilities, including a rolling road and brake tester, well equipped and well lit servicing bays – as well as well-trained capable staff.

David Reeves, managing director of D&G Bus, said: “A big well done to all our staff who have helped D&G on our journey and on to our arrival here today.”
