THE first stage of the 650 home development scheme in Coppenhall is set to begin with developers going to work on an initial 215 homes.

The £50million development, named Stoneley Park, was first agreed in November 2013, will be situated behind Monks Coppenhall Primary School.

Although the plans included the demolition of the former Cross Keys pub, developers Taylor Wimpey say building a new public house and shop with the development will bring an economic boost to the area.

Christine Aitken, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey North West, said: “This is an incredibly exciting new venture that will provide both first-time buyers in the area, as well as existing home-owners, with a real chance to progress on the housing ladder.

“We will offer a broad selection of two to five bedroom designs, so there will be something for everyone – as well as schemes like Help to Buy being available to support purchasers.”

The government-backed initiative enables buyers to secure any new home worth up to £600k with just a five per cent deposit.

A sales office is likely to open early in the New Year, and Taylor Wimpey is urging anybody interested in the new development to register online for updates.

Christine added: “Along with the great new homes, this new development will unquestionably create a fantastic wider community that can take advantage of some much-needed new amenities.

“To be kept up-to-date on launch events and timings, do register your interest sooner rather than later.”
