NANTWICH is gearing up for a Blue Christmas with a royal visit from the King set to rock the town for its annual lights switch on this Saturday.

Elvis impersonator Paul Larcombe will perform before switching on the lights at half past six accompanied by a spectacular fireworks display.

Nantwich Mayor Clr Christine Farrall has urged people to come along and join the fun.

He said: “In recent years the Nantwich Lights switch on has become a major event in the pre-Christmas Calendar and we again look forward to welcoming visitors from the local area and further afield.

“This year we have organised things so that more people can get a good sight of the stage, and I am encouraging visitors to get here early and take advantage of all the free entertainments on offer.”

A number of activities have been planned, including a free Santa grotto at the Church and, communal Carol singing led by the Young Voices Choir.

Additional free parking will be available on the large Nantwich Town FC car park.

Clr Farrall added: “This year in the square we will also be having a singalong carol concert as well, and we hope you will all join in with some old favourites.

“You can also rock’n’roll into Christmas at Nantwich with our local and renowned Elvis impersonator.”

The Christmas lights switch on will take place on Saturday, November 22.
