THE Labour party in Crewe and Nantwich is holding a public meeting about the European Union next week.

The meeting, taking place on Wednesday, December 3, is at 6.15pm at the Cheshire Academy of Integrated Sports on Broad Street, Crewe.

Guest speaker will be David Hanson, shadow immigration minister.

The party told the Guardian the meeting will give people an opportunity to hear from Labour’s Immigration spokesman on how Labour plans to tackle the immigration question and a chance to put their own views forward.

The discussion will be wide ranging and will address the following issues and questions from the audience.

• Does immigration benefit or cost the economy?

• Is there an increase in pressure on public services?

• To what extent does immigration change our communities and the impacts from immigration on local communities?

• Britain needs immigration rules that are tough and fair • How much does the business sector benefit from migration of people from other European countries?

David Hanson and Dr. Adrian Heald, Labour’s Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Crewe and Nantwich are looking forward to discussing these and other matters with local people.
