STAFF and volunteers of ‘fourth emergency service’ Stapely Grange RSPCA have received a top Staffordshire wildlife award for their work in wildlife rehabilitation and educating children.

The Rural Policing Liason Group held their annual awards ceremony at Moat House in Acton and presented a £500 cheque to staff along with a trophy.

Presenting the award on November 27 were the Lord Lieutenant of Staffordshire and the deputy mayor of Stafford.

Lee Stewart, manager of Stapely Grange, said: “To receive this award in Stapeley’s 20th anniversary year is a great honour.

“Any award of this kind is not only in respect to our very hard working staff but also all the volunteers and students who support the team on a daily basis, which enables us to care for the thousands of wild, exotic and domestic animals that arrive each year.”

Anyone who would like to support the work of Stapeley Grange can text RSPCA2 to 70007. Texts cost £3 plus standard network rate.
