NANTWICH has an array of markets to keep shoppers entertained and stocked up this Christmas.

This Saturday, December 13, the annual Christmas Market will be held in Nantwich town centre.

There will be a host of festive treats on offer at the Town Square market, including handmade gifts, decorations, mulled wine and puddings.

A variety of vintage clothing will also be on offer, from party dresses and coats, to jewellery and accessories.

A number of other goods will be on sale, such as children’s clothing, toys and pet products.

The following week, Saturday December 20, sees the return of the Farmers Market, which will also be held at the Town Square. The Nantwich Farmers’ Market attracts farmers, growers and producers from all over Cheshire attending the market in person to sell their produce direct to the public. Most of the produce on sale has been grown, reared, brewed, pickled, baked, smoked or processed by the stall holder.

Some of the many treats shoppers can get their hands on include bakery products, home-made pickles, chutneys and jams, and a range of fresh, locally-sourced meat.

All the rest and more can be found at Nantwich’s traditional market. The market, which is located at the junction of Market Street and Churchyardside, takes place every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

There is has been a market in Nantwich since 1500 and the building that currently houses the market dates from 1867. Stallholders sell a variety of goods, including fresh produce and household items.
