POLICE are hunting a man who creeped into a woman’s bedroom in the middle of the night and kissed her whilst she was sleeping.

In the early hours of Monday morning, a man gained access to a property in Casson Street, in Crewe, via an insecure front door.

He made up his way upstairs where he entered the bedroom where a middle-aged woman was sleeping at the time.

The victim was woken up when the man kissed her on the face. The victim shouted at the man and he walked back downstairs and out of her property.

The police have launched an investigation into the incident and an e-fit of the man has been released.

DC Jo Gooddy, who is investigating the incident, said: “The victim was clearly very upset by what happened and she is currently being supported by officers as the investigation progresses.

“A number of enquiries are being carried out in the local area and we are urging anyone who may have information, which could assist us, to come forward.”

The man is described as white, in his late 20s or early 30s, around 5ft 10in, with short, dark brown wavy hair. He had a round face, was clean shaven and was wearing dark clothing.

SC Gooddy added: “There have been no similar incidents reported in the area but the nature of the incident is understandably concerning and we are taking it very seriously. “I would like to reassure residents that patrols have been stepped up in the area to actively target the offender.

“Anyone with any concerns is urged to speak to a local officer. I would also like to encourage anyone who may have information in relation to the identity of the offender to get in touch.”

Police are reminding residents to be vigilant and to ensure all doors are kept locked and secure and to report any suspicious activity immediately.

Anyone with information should contact Cheshire Police on their non-emergency number, 101, quoting incident number 155 of December 9.

Information can also be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
