MID Cheshire is likely to be hit with a downfall of heavy snow with the Met Office warning of up to 15cm on higher ground.

The Met Office have issued weather warnings for tonight, Tuesday, and tomorrow, with snowfall likely to start from around 8pm and go on until Wednesday morning.

Members of the public are being told to be aware that transport could be disrupted and to plan accordingly.

A spokesman from the Met Office said: “An area of snow is expected to extend northeastwards from parts of Wales across the Midlands and into parts of northern England on Tuesday evening and night, persisting into Wednesday morning.

“Accumulations of 3-8 cm are likely in places, perhaps 10-15cm very locally on high ground. The snow should ease gradually through Wednesday morning.

“The public should be aware of the risk of disruption to transport.”
