NANTWICH'S unsung heroes will be recognised at an awards evening next month.

The ‘Salt of the Earth’ awards will be presented by Nantwich Mayor, Cllr Christine Farrall, on Friday, March 27 at Nantwich Civic Hall.

The Town Mayor will present awards to recognise and celebrate the achievements of individuals, groups and businesses that selflessly make a real difference to the Nantwich community.

“We have many unsung heroes in Nantwich who give up their own time and work incredibly hard to improve other people’s lives,” Cllr Farrall said.

“We want to hear about them and their stories but importantly, we want to say 'thank you.'"

The eight award categories are as follows: community volunteer, making communities safer award, young volunteer award (under 18), business support in the community, inspiration award, supporting children award and outstanding organisation/group.

To nominate someone for an award, apply to the Mayor with your name and address and the name and address of the nominee as well as the award category.

A maximum 250-word statement as to why you have nominated them must also be provided.

Nominations must be submitted no later than Friday, March 6, and can be posted to ‘Salt of the Earth’ Awards, Nantwich Civic Hall, Market Street, Nantwich, CW5 5DG.

Alternatively nominations can be dropped off at the Civic Hall, or emailed to ntc.marketing@nantwichtowncouncil.gov.uk
