A RAUNCHY girl group are will headline a spectacular double header at The Box Crewe this weekend.

The Courtesans, a London-based all-female quartet, headline their second show at Crewe's premier music venue as part of a UK tour on Friday, February 27.

The group are following up a Valentine's night sell-out show at the Macbeth Club in London.

The Courtesans, who hail from Holland, Poland, Ireland and England, say they are attempting to change perception of women's role in music and society.

A spokesman for the group said: "Their first single 'Genius' outlines the complete body transformation many women now feel they have to go through just to be accepted and to, in some way, feel normal.

"The Courtesans believe it is their right to express their sexuality on stage like many men in music have done for the past 50 years without being vilified, or their music dismissed, because of it."

The Courtesans will be supported by Crewe 6-piece Moving Moscow, who return to the Pedley Street venue for the first time since their raucous headline show there in September.

Singer Dan Parry said: "We've got some new material to debut so we're all massively excited for this gig.

"And it should be fun to play with The Courtesans as they're one of the more unique acts out there at the moment. They put on a great live show, with a twist.

"And the local links both bands have make it even more interesting. I know we're excited to play in our hometown again."
