A MAN has been charged following an incident in Crewe that left a 32-year-old with several 'puncture wounds'.

A 33-year-old man from Crewe is charged with assault by beating, possession of a bladed article and two counts of breaching a restraining order.

He appeared at South Cheshire Magistrates Court on Saturday, March 7 and was remanded into custody until his next appearance at Chester Crown Court on March 18.

The charge relates to an incident that happened in Crewe last week.

At around 7.08pm on Thursday, March 5, police were called to a disturbance involving two men outside an address in Minshull New Road in Crewe.

A 32-year-old man suffered several puncture wounds to his torso and was treated at Leighton Hospital. It’s believed his injuries are minor.

Police are now appealing for witnesses in connection to the incident.

DS Jim Boulton said: "We are appealing to anyone who was in the area at the time or anyone with information that may help with the investigation to contact us.

"I′d like to reassure the community that this was an isolated incident and a 33-year-old local man has been arrested in relation to this incident."
