THE unsung heroes of the workplace – temps – have been recognised with awards from leading Cheshire-based consultancy company Brampton Recruitment.

Brampton, who supply temporary staff to hundreds of local businesses across South Cheshire, has judged Emma Lewis as a winner in their innovative Temp of the Year Award.

Emma, 32, was nominated by her employers – Kindertons Accident Management in Crewe - for the commercial division award, having impressed their HR team with her excellent service, can-do attitude and attention to detail.

Emma, who now holds a permanent position with the company as an HR administration assistant, said: “The award came as a lovely surprise and was completely unexpected.

“Originally I’d studied for a teacher training degree, but when I finished university I was unsure what I wanted to do and spotted the Brampton Recruitment advert then I was interviewed the next day – they’re very efficient.

“I’m really pleased with the vouchers and I’m probably going off to Debenhams to buy some make-up.”

This is the fourth year that Brampton Recruitment has run the competition – inviting all employers of their 100 plus temps to nominate individuals who have gone beyond the call of duty in their daily work.

Emma was presented with a certificate and £50 in Love2Shop vouchers by Brampton Recruitment consultant Jo Glover.

Charlotte Walker, recruitment team leader at Brampton, said: “Temp staff are a vital resource now in in a wide variety of businesses, not only offering flexibility but also additional knowledge and expertise which really add value to the workplace.

“Temp roles also encompass far more than administration tasks and at all levels, for example we currently have roles for team leaders, commercial managers, IT technicians and mechanical engineers.

“Every year we supply temps to hundreds of local businesses, and our annual awards are a wonderful opportunity to give them the recognition they deserve.”
