Emma’s ‘Queen’ cut earns her the crown at national contest

A CREWE hairdresser has proved she's a cut above the rest.

Talented Emma Pringle, 25, saw off nationwide competition at her profession's most prestigious event.

“I’m really inspired by catwalk styling and working in a city but I’ve got a lot of work to do before that."

Creative and inventive are words to describe her ideas which took the National Hairdressing Competition by storm in Blackpool.

Judges awarded Emma's Queen Of The Future' design first prize in the Avant Garde' category.

She also walked off with a trophy, medal and a cheque for £100 to the delight of her friends and colleagues at unisex salon Hairporium, based in Crewe Road, Shavington.

A Level Three NVQ hairdressing student at South Cheshire College, Emma loves what she does but it took a bit of bottle to go through with it.

"The tutors at college put me forward for it," she explained.

"But I wasn't going to do it the week before because I was so nervous," she explained.

"It was nerve-racking because I had to create the design on a model right in front of the judges," she explained.

"She was nervous too, wearing next to nothing but I told her the way she looked, she didn't have anything to worry about.

"We were both shocked when they read out my name because there was so much competition."

Maybe life in the big city beckons.

"I absolutely love hairdressing, it's given me a goal to work towards," added Emma.

"I'm really inspired by catwalk styling and working in a city but I've got a lot of work to do before that and for now, it's great working in Shavington."
