WELL, it would have definitely brightened up the Northwich skyline but the outside of the new Memorial Court is not changing colour.
Our April Fools joke this morning revealed that a campaign group, led by Helen Back (get it?), was calling on the council to change the colour of the turqoise tiles currently covering the town's newest building.
Helen asked for different colours to be used instead....
It certainly fooled some on Twitter - have a look at some of the replies to the original story below.
Despite quite a bit of criticism over the colour of the new £12million building, it will not be changing ahead of opening up to town residents next month.
@robinmuirhead @NorthwichNews and the shops where the seafarer is. Colourful sounds nice but in reality i think it will look horrendous

But some people got the 'gag'!
@NorthwichNews I reckon you get some tartan paint to decorate some for the Scots living locally (hint hint) ;-)
