DOG owners are invited to enter their prized pooches in a charity fun dog show being held at The Slow and Easy Hotel at Lostock Gralam on Saturday, April 25.

The show is being organised by Northwich Vets, and will feature a series of classes including best rescue dog and the cutest pup under six months.

The classes will be judged by dog training and behaviour consultant Denise Hubbard, and rosettes will be awarded to first, second and third in each category, with the winners being judged for the Best in Show trophy.

Northwich Vets is in Manchester Road, Lostock Gralam, and the show will raise money for Erin Hounds and Buster’s Fund.

Erin Hounds aims to rescue, rehabilitate and responsibly rehome Irish sighthounds, and Buster’s Fund provides funds for emergency cases and needy animals.

It was started by a client of Northwich Vets, which treated their cat Buster, and is run by the veterinary practice and the client.

“The dog show is a community event, and we thought of The Slow and Easy Hotel as a possible venue as it just up the road and Jacky Beasant has taken over,” said Northwich Vets receptionist Emma Cooper, who is organising the show.

“We we would like to get at least 10 entries for each class, and hope to raise a nice amount for the charities.”

The show takes place on the former bowling green at the hotel from 1pm to 5pm, and the other classes are best golden oldie, waggiest tail, loveliest lady and fabulous fella.

It is £2 per class to enter, and anyone who would like to take part is asked to complete a registration form, available from the practice, the hotel and a link detailed below.

The show will also feature stalls, a tombola and a raffle, to which clients and businesses have donated prizes.

Muddy Paws Grooming Salon from Wincham is offering a free nail clip to every entrant and free groom for every class winner.
