A BLAZE that ravaged three industrial warehouses in the early hours of Monday morning in Crewe is believed to have been started deliberately, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to reports of a fire on Chapel Lane, off Warmingham Road, Crewe at around 1.00am on Monday, April 6.

Fire crews from Crewe, Nantwich, Sandbach and Middlewich used main water and hose reel jets to bring the blaze under control.

Three small industrial warehouses on Chapel Lane were destroyed as a result of the fire, which is suspected to have been started deliberately.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service immediately launched a fire investigation to find the cause of the blaze.

Cheshire police have now confirmed that the fire is currently being treated a suspicious.

Inspector Jo Flanagan, from Cheshire Constabulary, said: "Although this incident took place late in the evening I believe that there may be somebody who was in the local area at the time of the incident, who may have seen something suspicious and I would like to appeal to them to come forward with any information that they have."

Police are appealing for anyone with any information regarding the incident to come forward.
