A COUPLE from Crewe have marked their 65th wedding anniversary in style thanks to housing provider Wulvern and construction partner Cruden.

Bob and Dot Clarke’s Blue Sapphire celebrations coincided with the start of the refurbishment of their home by Wulvern and Cruden as part of the £1.9 million regeneration programme on the Sherborne estate, so staff from both organisations stepped in to arrange an afternoon tea party for the couple and their family at the community bungalow.

Wulvern’s Regeneration Officer Jan Melia said: “Bob and Dot were one of the first residents to move on to the estate in 1970, it’s lovely to be able to celebrate this special occasion with them as well as carry out improvements to their home!”

Mrs Clarke said: “It was such a surprise, we feel very spoilt.”

The couple received a bouquet of flowers and a gift presented by Barry Curran, Cruden Group’s Community Ambassador.

He added: "Congratulations to Dot and Bob, for reaching an incredible milestone, sincere wishes from the Cruden team, and may they enjoy many more years together.”
