A BLAZE that destroyed three small industrial warehouses in Crewe was started deliberately, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to reports of a fire on Chapel Lane, off Warmingham Road, Crewe at around 1.00am on Monday, April 6.

Fire crews from Crewe, Nantwich, Sandbach and Middlewich battled to keep the blaze under control.

However, three small industrial warehouses were destroyed as a result of the fire. No-one was injured during the incident.

Police are now appealing for anyone with any information regarding the incident to come forward.

Inspector Jo Flanagan, from Cheshire Constabulary, said: "Although this incident took place late in the evening I believe that there may be somebody who was in the local area at the time of the incident, who may have seen something suspicious and I would like to appeal to them to come forward with any information that they have."
