A CHARITY concert that aims to raise awareness for dementia sufferes will take place in Crewe next month.

The Thanks for the Memory Big Band Concert will take place at Cranage Hall Hotel and Conference Centre, Crewe, on Sunday May 10, between 2.00pm – 5.00pm.

Back for its second year, with support from Vera Lynn and featuring the Dave Egerton Big Band, the charity concert will play a variety of songs from the 1920’s to 1970’s.

All proceeds will go to Nantwich Dementia Friends Group and the Alzheimer’s Society.

A spokesman for Thanks for the Memory said: “After our successful concert in May 2014, we would love you to join us for this great afternoon of entertainment.

“Come along and sit back while we take you down memory lane to the Swing era, from Glen Miller to the Beatles, Fred Astaire to Vera Lynn to Van Morrison; Frank Sinatra to The Temptations, and much more.

“Also, help us to raise money for Nantwich Dementia Friends Group and the Alzheimer’s Society.

“We hope our concert will bring back precious memories for those living with dementia and memory loss and their families and take them all back in time through music to those yester-years.
