TWO sisters rolled back the years with an 80’s Fancy Dress Disco night in aid of St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice and the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Sophie and Steph Marvell, from Crewe, raised £1,371 for St Luke’s with their 80’s Fancy Dress Disco night.

Their ‘amazing’ Granddad, Tom Bounre, lives with motor neurone disease (MND) and receives support from our hospice.

Both girls wanted to give something back to those who have helped their Grandfather and decided to put together their first fundraising event for St Luke’s and MNDA Cheshire.

Sophie said: “My sister and I wanted to raise as much money as possible for two charities that are very close to our hearts.

“The first being MNDA Cheshire, our Granddad has managed this disease for over ten years, he has a brilliant attitude towards life.

“During this time he has spent time at St Luke’s Cheshire Hospice, the hospice and the staff have been brilliant, any money raised through the raffle will be donated there.”

“On the night everyone seemed to have had a really good time and the dance floor was full most of the night. We enjoyed it so much we will most definitely be organising another one.”

Mark Porter, St Luke’s corporate and community fundraiser, added: “Sophie and her sister Steph have raised a smashing amount and we are grateful for their efforts.

“We know the hospice means a lot to them and the money raised will help us continue to provide the vital service needed for patients in our local community.”
