A TEAM of former Crewe Alexandra FC legends are pulling on their boots to raise much-needed funds for disabled children, and grass roots football in the local community.
The team, which will include former England international and West Ham United star, Dean Ashton, will take on Sandbach United, who currently lie tenth in the Cheshire League Premier Division, in a fundraising fixture on Saturday, June 6.
Ashton will also be joined by Sunderland stars David Vaughan and Liam Lawrence and former Northern Ireland international Steve Jones, with organiser Gary Walker still hoping to tempt Robbie Savage.
The game will be played at United’s Hind Heath Road ground, Sandbach, CW11 3LZ, and will kick-off at 3pm.
Gate receipts will be split between Caudwell Children, Sandbach United Under 18s and Sandbach United FC.
Admission is £5 for adults and £3 for children and OAPs.
For more information, or to buy tickets, call Gary Walker on 07960 454 198 or visit the Sandbach United FC Club Shop.
