HASLINGTON will be holding its annual village fun day on Saturday, May 16.

The new Vicar for St. Matthews, Haslington and St. Michaels, Crewe Green, rev Jules Walker, will be formally opening the event on the village green at 11am.

In addition to 30 charity stalls aiming to raise funding for worthy causes the Fun Day will include a performance by Winterley Methodist Brass Band together with the village's renowned dog show, which will once again be professionally judged.

There will be two pedigree classes in the dog show, Pedigree Puppy six to 12 months old and Open Adult Pedigree, and six fun classes ranging from Haslington Best Puppy, six to 12 months old, to the Dog with the Waggiest Tail, prior to the Best in Show class.

To take part in the Dog Show simply turn up on the village green before 12.30pm on the day and book your dog in to the chosen classes.

Full details of the individual classes can be obtained by ringing 01270 584582 after 7pm during the week
