A CREWE confectionary firm has increased their van fleet by 60 per cent as the company expands its delivery fleet to meet growing demand.

Wrights Food Group, which recently opened of a £6 million, 40,000 sq. ft. confectionery factory in Crewe, have taken delivery of a new batch of Mercedes Sprinters.

The nine new chilled delivery vehicles will distribute Wrights’ goods directly to retailers, wholesalers and food service outlets throughout England and Wales.

Utilising the latest technology, each Wrights van is also fitted with a complete camera security system, to ensure the safety of employees and its products.

Wrights chief executive, Peter Wright, said: “Projecting the right image is crucial for positioning our company as number 1 in the marketplace.

“We purposefully replace our vans on a regular basis to ensure they reflect our high standards.

“This also reduces time in the workshop, which equates to minimum disruption for our customers.”

The new delivery of vehicles has increased the fleet size from 15 to 24. The new Sprinters will provide three years of service, operating six days a week.

The Wrights van sales division supply a comprehensive range of products including pies, pasties, sausage rolls, cakes and sandwiches.

Customers include independent convenience stores, sandwich bars, food distributors and food service outlets, along with more than 55 different football grounds and sporting arenas.

Wrights employs more than 450 people across its operating centres including food development, production, sales and marketing and distribution.

Its van sales division deliver more than 250,000 products per week.
