SOUTH Cheshire College opened its doors to the local community for an action-packed day of family fun.

Families who flocked to the Crewe campus were able to take part in activities including face painting, airbrush tattoos, woodwork, science experiments, a gaming challenge and more.

Youngsters were able to handle exotic animals, including Woody the skunk, scorpions and snakes at the Zoo2U display.

International students from Thailand, who are visiting the College, showcased their dance skills and culture with a series of live performances on the College Crescent.

Nicola Moore, South Cheshire College marketing manager, who co-ordinated the event, said: “We were very pleased to welcome people from across the area to our community day.

“This was a fun-filled event with something for everyone and hopefully, many people now have a better idea of what South Cheshire College offers.”

Dance activities and supervised climbing sessions took place in the college’s Sports Arena and on the state-of-the-art climbing wall for those feeling energetic.

Abzorbed Entertainment also rolled into college to get everyone’s adrenaline pumping by offering ‘zorbing’ – an activity where people roll around inside a giant ball.

Pet Hire provided a digger for children to have a go on under supervision and a giant crane targeted people with a head for heights.

A hog roast, barbecue and ice cream and popcorn outlets were also available.

Ms Moore added: “I’d like to say a big thankyou to college staff, students and members of the public for supporting the event and making this a great occasion.”
