THE Nantwich branch of Yorkshire Building Society is putting £1,000 donated by its members up for grabs to three local charities.

The charities in line for a cash boost are: Arch (North Staffs), Cats Protection Crewe and The Wingate Special Children’s Trust.

People are invited to call in and vote for their favourite of the three charities to decide how the money will be split in the Yorkshire Building Society’s Charity Choices campaign.

The Charity Choices campaign will launch on Friday, June 5, and will run for two weeks.

Caris Bayley, manager of the Nantwich branch of Yorkshire Building Society, said: “We know how important our chosen three charities are to our local community so we’re delighted to be making a donation to help them continue their important work – just how much they receive though will be up to our customers and members of the public.

“In this campaign votes equal pounds so we hope as many people as possible will take a minute to pop in and make their vote count.”

The number of votes received for each charity by Friday, June 19, will determine the amount of money each one receives.

The one with the most will receive £500, second place will get £300 and £200 will go to the charity in third place.

The campaign is being supported by Yorkshire Building Society Charitable Foundation, which is funded by the bank’s community scheme, Small Change, Big Difference.

The scheme allows members of the Society to donate the pennies from the interest they receive on their accounts, just once a year.

In total £40,000 will be donated to 120 charities across northern England and Wales during the Charity Choices campaign.
