STAFF from South Cheshire College got their hands – and everywhere else – dirty during charity mud race.

The South Cheshire College team took part in the gruelling Pretty Muddy Race for Life event at Tatton Park in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Pretty Muddy, which is part of the Race for Life campaign, is a ladies only event that challenges competitors to complete a 5K course by running or walking and battle their way through numerous muddy obstacles.

The team included hair and beauty staff Becki Ellis, Fiona Notman and Joy Edge, and arts, business and services faculty receptionist Julia Sanders.

Julia said: “This was most certainly a feel good event, which was a chance for us all to enjoy ourselves together outside the work environment and raise money for a fantastic course, one which is close to all of our hearts.

“The course had its difficult moments and at times was both physically and mentally challenging but it was very worthwhile and we all supported each other every step of the way.”

The team designed and wore pink t-shirts which displayed the South Cheshire College and Elements salons logos for their epic adventure.

They were covered from head to toe in mud after their Pretty Muddy run, which attracted hundreds of women fundraisers from across the region.

The girls raised £400 for Cancer Research UK, which is the world’s leading charity dedicated to beating cancer through research.

The charity has saved millions of lives by discovering new ways to prevent, diagnose and treat cancer.

Julia added: “We are very grateful to all the staff and students and visitors to South Cheshire College who have shown their support for this fundraising stunt.

“The money we have raised will help Cancer Research UK to continue its year on year fantastic work, and research to help beat cancer sooner and to support those who are affected by it.”
