CREWEFEST and Crewe Summer Fair returns to the town this weekend and promises kick-start the summer.

The one-day festival, which is organised by Crewe Town Council, will take over Crewe Town Centre on Sunday, July 12.

Market Street will be lined with a serious of themed tents, including a creative, youth and international tent, which will celebrate some of the diversity, culture and creativity in our community.

Market Square will also be surrounded with street food and filled with the sights and sounds of entertainers and performers throughout the day.

Community Artist Sue Guildford of Junk Art Creations will be leading a Steam Punk inspired art installation where members of the public will be invited to come along and create a train out of recyclable materials and junk.

In addition to CreweFest, more than 20 local businesses will be at the Summer Market, in Queensway, in aid of Hope House Children’s Hospice and St Luke’s (Cheshire) Hospice.

Cllr Pam Minshall, chair of the community and environment committee, said: “We are delighted to be holding our second festival in Crewe Town Centre.

“The themes touch upon some of the diverse community and activities that regularly take place in our great community.

“There are also a few that you might not have thought about trying before, so come and find out what they are like.”
