CREATIVE Crewe, Crewe Town Council and Crewe Town Allotment Federation are gearing up for a free fun filled day for all the family at Queens Park on Sunday, August 16.

The day is sponsored by Crewe-based company Expert Logistics, starts at 10am with a series of zones spread throughout Queens Park each with their own theme.

Among others, Crewe Ladies Boot Camp will be in the Fit Zone, Park Art, Groove Noise, Stonerig Virtual Racers and a giant Scalextric track will be in the Family and Fun Zones.

Crewe charities and community groups will be attending to share their information and services with residents and the Creative Crewe Handmade Market will be popping up on the main Avenue.

Entertainment will begin early afternoon with Catherine Fraser’s Irish Dancers, X-Academy School of Performing Arts and Via Dance and will lead into the evening from live acts including The Entertainment, Bob Dylan Tribute Band With Bob on our Side and the UK’s top Bruce Springsteen Tribute Band, Glory Days culminating in a closing firework display around 9.45pm courtesy of Blitz Fireworks.

Carol Wilkinson, chair of Creative Crewe, said: "We are so excited to be putting together our biggest event so far. We are working very hard to make this a fantastic day.

"We hope everyone in Crewe will come along and pay us a visit."

Queens Park will also host the first Crewe Town Horticultural Show on Sunday, August 16, when it sets up from the early hours.

Judging will take place at 10am, the show will be opened to the public at 12pm and exhibits will go on sale at 5.15pm.
