BAYWATER Healthcare, which employs 85 staff at its Crewe headquarters, has been named as finalist in two categories of the Supply Management Awards from the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply.

The CIPS Supply Management Awards celebrate excellence and exceptional examples of best practice, providing a comprehensive look at the most innovative companies and individuals in the profession.

Baywater Healthcare’s nomination for the 'Best Supplier Relationship' award focuses on a project in partnership with NHS Wales Shared Services to improve the contract management process for patients who receive home oxygen services in their own homes.

The submission focused on Baywater Healthcare’s agility, desire to innovate, and partnership approach to deliver benefits to patients, the NHS and the company itself.

It is an example of a successful collaboration between a responsible private healthcare partner working to enable the NHS to meet its goals.

Baywater Healthcare has also made the CIPS shortlist for the Most Improved Purchasing Operation in the Start Up category, which looks at how effective management and innovative practices in the procurement and supply chain function can be extended to the benefit of the wider organisation.

Adam Sullivan, chief executive of Baywater Healthcare, said: "Partnering with NHS Wales has enabled us to both focus on our end users’ needs and bring benefits to us all. Successfully building a procurement team has been hard work, but we’re delighted to get this recognition.

"It’s a great boost to the teams who have worked really hard to get to this point, and it’s already inspiring us to be even more innovative in how we can approach future client, partner and supplier needs.”

The award ceremony will take place on September 9 at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.
