THE Russian State Ballet and Opera House is coming to dazzle audiences in Crewe later this year.

The world-renowned opera house will perform Verdi’s opera La Traviata at Crewe Lyceum Theatre on September 11, as part of its UK wide opera tour.

The Verdi opera is based on a play adapted from the novel by Alexandre Dumas, which tells the tale of a high society courtesan, Violetta, who sacrifices all for the man she loves.

Accompanied by a large live Orchestra with more 30 musicians, La Traviata is being performed in its original language but with English subtitles.

Producer Alexej Ignatow, of Amande Concerts Ltd, who has co-ordinated the UK tour, said: "Opera is sometimes seen as being out of reach but these performances will bring world class opera talent to local audiences in a way that makes opera more accessible than ever.

“For many people, seeing an opera is a wonderful and profound experience and one they are keen to repeat.

“I hope that these local performances will encourage many more people to try opera and discover the magic it creates.”

The Russian State Ballet and Opera House has been presenting ballets and operas to huge audiences, worldwide for more than 14 years.

Every year, Amande Concerts Ltd works with directors and leaders from established theatres in the Russian Federation who have graduated from the best artistic institutions in Russia and the former Soviet Union, to bring world class ballet and opera to the UK.

Amande Concerts Ltd will be bringing to the UK around 250 performers as part of their 2015 tours.

Tickets for performances are available at local theatres and further information and tickets are also available at opera-tickets.co.uk
