PUGS up and down the country donned their costumes for the second annual 'Superhero Sponsored Walk'.

The Cheshire Pug Meet Up Group held theirs on Sunday, September 13 at Queens Park, Crewe.

The event was to raise money for registered charity The Pug Dog Welfare and Rescue Association (PDWRA), a registered charity that operates throughout the whole of the UK.

In 2014, PDWRA, which calls on a maximum of twelve trustees who are able to assist a pug in need in any part of the country, helped re-home around 170 pugs.

The charity Sarah Tomlinson, who is a PDWRA trustee, said: “It was the first time we had met on Queens Park.

"It was a really, really lovely day and was really well supported.

“Most of those who came along were from a group on Facebook. It was the first time they had met up, so I decided to get involved.

“We raised just over £300 on the day. Across the country, we’re aiming to raise £3000, and we’re well on track for that.”

Sarah, who helped organise the Crewe event, brought her ten-year-old daughter Annabelle to the event, as well as two very special rescue pugs, Raymond 14, and Billy 13.

“Raymond and Billy are the oldest rescue pugs in the country,” she said.

“I’ve been a trustee now for coming up to 18 months. I joined because of my love for animals, but in particular my love for pugs.

“I just love pugs.”
