STAFF from Nantwich-based TIMco – one of the UK’s largest independent suppliers of screws, fasteners and fixings – powered through the Manchester 100km bike ride for charity.

The team, made up of more than twenty employees, met in Manchester’s Wythenshaw Park on Sunday morning.

From there, they began a gruelling 100km ride through the leafy lanes of Cheshire before heading back through Middlewich and on to the finish line in Manchester.

In doing so, the group raised more than £3,000 for The Christie Charity, which provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds.

Simon Midwood, Managing Director of TIMco, said: “It was a fantastic and well organised event and great to see such a strong turnout from TIMco.

“The team put in a huge amount of effort to get fit for the day and we’re delighted to have been able to raise so much money for such a worthwhile cause.”

The Christie Charity is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating more than 44,000 patients a year.

Based in Manchester, the centre has provided a service to more than 3.2 million people across Greater Manchester and Cheshire delivering care as close to the patient’s home as possible.

TIMco is one of the UK’s leading importers and wholesale suppliers of screws, fastenings fixings, nails and power tool accessories.

Established in 1970, TIMco is headquartered in Nantwich, Cheshire and now employs 88 members of staff.
