A 22-YEAR-OLD man is recovering in hospital following a serious assault in Nantwich town centre.

It is believed the attack occurred around 2am on Sunday, January 24, in the vicinity of the bar and restaurant, Nakatcha, Welsh Row.

The victim, a 22-year-old man from Shropshire, sustained serious injuries as a result of the incident; he is currently in a recovering in hospital.

An 18-year-old man from Stoke-on-Trent has been arrested in relation to the incident. He has been released on police bail pending further enquires.

Officers from Crewe Local Policing unit are now appealing for any witnesses or anyone with any information that may help with their enquiries to come forward.
