POLICE have been searching through the night for an elderly Nantwich man who suffers from dementia.

Roy Tomlinson, aged 83, was reported missing shortly before 5pm yesterday from the Shrewbridge Road area of Nantwich.

Cheshire Police launched an appeal yesterday eveving and are appealing for help from the public in tracing his whereabouts.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for Roy, who has dementia and can become confused.

“Enquiries are ongoing in the local area and anyone with any information is urged to get in touch. He has links to the Crewe area.”

Roy is described as 5’10” tall with grey receding hair. He was last seen wearing a grey jumper, jeans and black or brown shoes. He is not believed to have been wearing a coat.

Following the appeal, Cheshire Police said they had received ‘lots of support from members of the public’.

A post on Cheshire Police’s Facebook page said they were ‘doing everything we can throughout the night and will review in the morning’.

A police spokesman has confirmed this morning that Roy’s is still missing.
