PATIENTS are being warned that phone lines are down at a number of Cheshire doctors' surgeries.
These include Oakwood Medical Centre, in Barnton, Weaverham Surgery, Swanlow Practice, in Winsford, and Delamere Practice, in Crewe.
A statement issued by NHS South Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS Vale Royal CCG said: "We apologise for this inconvenience and would like to assure our patients that we are working with our suppliers as a matter of urgency to establish the cause of the problem and to rectify this as soon we are able.
"At this point in time we are not clear when the problem will be resolved however in the meantime we would ask patients who urgently need to see a GP to visit their practice in person to make an appointment."
The CCGs advise patients who urgently need to speak to someone to call NHS111, the free health advice and support number, and in cases of emergency to dial 999.
