TRAINS between Hartford and Winsford have been suspended after a man was killed after being hit by a train near Acton Bridge.
London Midland, the operator of services between Liverpool and Birmingham, said that an incident occured shortly before 9.30am.
The firm tweeted: "Due to the emergency services dealing with an incident trains between #Birmingham and #Liverpool stations have amended calls."
A Guardian reader emailed in: "My friend is on the train, it's happened near Weaverham.
"The police have said they won't be allowed off the train for several hours. She said the emergency break kicked in and the conductor came on the PA and told them the train had hit a person.
"People started to be ill and the conductor told my friend the driver was in a bad way."
