PUPILS from a Crewe high school got into the spirit of things for British Science Week.
The Oaks Academy pupils took part in lunchtime taster sessions at South Cheshire College to explore Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) subjects.
British Science Week, which ran this year from March 11 to 20, is the UK’s largest grassroots celebration of Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths
Year 10 pupils from the Crewe-based academy took part in a range of sessions to help each of them make informed decisions about their next steps.
South Cheshire College, which is the hub for the North West Science Network, provides a range of science options for young people across the region, in partnership with the University of Oxford.
Mike Finney, director of advice, admissions and marketing at South Cheshire College, said: “These activities were designed to give pupils in Year 10 at one of our neighbouring academies a taste of STEM subjects at South Cheshire College.
“Pupils in Year 10 at high school are starting to think about their next steps so these type of sessions helped them to gain a head start in terms of what they can expect on all these different programmes.
“We have an established reputation for the quality of STEM subjects that we offer here at South Cheshire College.”
