A HOMEOWNER was treated for burns to their face and arms after using a small can of petrol to ignite a fire.
Firefighters were called at 5.40pm on Sunday to Nutfield Avenue in Crewe and found a small fire outside the property.
A Cheshire Fire spokesman added: "The occupant had used a small can of petrol to ignite a fire, but unfortunately suffered burns to face and arms in the process.
"The fire was already out when the fire crew arrived.
"The casualty was treated by paramedics."
Fire crews also tackled a bedroom fire on Claremont Road at 7.35pm on Sunday.
A large fan was used to clear the smoke.
