A NANTWICH apprentice has been 'highly commended' in a nationwide competition.

Electrical installation apprentice, Paul Jackson, has been recognised as Highly Commended in Screwfix Trade Apprentice 2016, following a nationwide search for the best future trade professionals in the UK.

Paul, 20, who attends South Cheshire College, has been recognised due to his outstanding professionalism, talent and commitment to his trade.

Paul attended the grand finale at Google HQ on April 15.

There, he had to impress a panel of judges to prove he had what it took to be the best in the business.

He wowed a judging panel with his professionalism and dedication to his trade.

His drive and commitment to electrical installation stood out amongst the finalists, along with his real passion for helping his customers and his desire to progress and succeed in the industry.

Paul said: “I am delighted that I have won the title of ‘Highly Commended’ in Screwfix Trade Apprentice 2016. I love my trade and I can’t wait to make a future career from electrical installation.

"This competition has provided me with recognition in my area and I am looking forward to continuing in the industry with this title behind me."
