RESIDENTS were left without power on Monday evening due to an underground cable fault in Crewe.
A spokesman for SP Energy Networks said the fault was reported just after 6pm, and the problem was solved about an hour later.
"The fault was due to an underground cable fault in the area which was reported in just after 6pm,” said the spokesman.
“Engineers were on site very quickly and managed to resolve the fault just after 7pm. We apologise for any inconvenience.”
The problem was reported in Wistaston Road, Crewe, and two fire engines from Crewe and one from Nantwich were called to the incident.
Firefighters set up a cordon and stood by as gas and electrical engineers dealt with the problem.
National Grid was asked by the fire service to attend as a precaution.
