NINE men suspected of being involved in an organised crime drug ring have been charged following a string of raids in Crewe and Nantwich.

The men were all arrested yesterday, Wednesday, August 10, as part of Operation Impact, which targeted people involved organised crime and illegal drugs.

Following questioning the men have all been charged with Conspiracy to supply Class A drugs. Seven of the men were remanded in custody, while two were released on police bail.

All nine men are set to appear at Crewe Magistrates Court later today, Thursday, August 11.

As part of the operation, nine warrants were executed at addresses across the Crewe area, including in Nantwich, Leighton and Haslington.

A tenth warrant was conducted at an address in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Two other men who were arrested as part of the operation have been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
