THE team at Drivers Direct in Crewe has been voted team of the year at the company’s annual awards dinner in London.

The branch’s Matt Rogers also scooped ‘Employee of the Year’ while Helen Walker was recognised for her long service.

During the award ceremony, Drivers Direct also announced that it would also be donating £2,400 to Cancer Research UK after raising money on the evening.

Drivers Direct run the annual competition across all of its 22 branches, with several prizes awarded across the business for various achievements including Employee of the Year and Branch of the Year.

The coveted prizes include trips to Paris and London, with the star prize being a trip to New York, with the winners announced at the company’s annual charity Black Tie dinner in Marble Arch London.

Matt Rogers, winner of this year’s Employee of the Year said: “It’s fantastic to be named as Employee of the Year, and the award also recognises how well the whole branch is performing.

“The business is going from strength to strength, and we have built a strong customer base of companies in the area and now look forward to a positive year ahead.”

Gethin Roberts, the owner and managing director of the company, said: “Each year we take the opportunity to reward our employees for the hard work they put in to the business as we want our employees to feel appreciated and to know that their hard work does not go unnoticed.

“The team at Crewe has done such a great job again this year and it’s nice to be able to recognise and reward them for their efforts.”

Established in 2002, Drivers Direct covers all driver classes, from chauffeurs and fork lift driver’s right through to LGV Class 1 and 2 drivers, supplies more than 1,100 drivers a week to clients from across the public and private sectors.

The company currently has a network of 22 branches across the UK.
