THE family of a man who died in Crewe have paid tribute to a ‘gentle giant’.
The 51-year-old victim, Stephen John O'Brien, from Crewe, died on Wednesday, August 31 after he was allegedly stabbed in the chest during an incident in an alleyway off Edleston Road.
Stephen’s mother said: "Steven was known to family and friends as a gentle giant."
Two men and one woman were arrested in relation to the incident on Thursday 1 September. Following questioning, Oliver Dabbs, aged 19, of Wood Street, Crewe and Cameron Scragg, aged 20, of Gresty Road, Crewe were both charged with murder.
At a hearing in Chester Crown Court on Wednesday, September 7 both men pleaded not guilty to the charges and will be tried on February 6 2017.
