A 36-YEAR-OLD man from Crewe has been found dead in Mow Cop following a collision with a tree.

North West Ambulance Service was called to reports of an incident involving a bike on Mow Lane, one mile east of the A34 near the Staffordshire border, at 5.57pm yesterday.

An ambulance, a rapid response vehicle and an emergency doctor arrived on the scene around 15 minutes later, where the bike had come off the road and collided with a tree.

Officers from Cheshire Police also arrived at the scene, where the man was pronounced dead.

Next of kin have been informed and formal identification is expected to take place later today.

Investigations are currently on-going to determine the cause of the collision, but a Cheshire Police spokesman indicated it is not thought that any other vehicle was involved, and officers are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
