A PROUD Nantwich mum was brought to tears after her nine-year-old daughter featured on the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
Gemma Street, of Stapeley, watched her daughter Sienna perform with her 12-year-old dance partner Harrison Clayton, from Weston, during the show’s emotional opening sequence on Saturday, September 24.
The Bridgemere Primary School student, who is part of the Pritchards Dance Academy, Burleydam, danced to ‘What the World Needs Now’ as part of a group from the academy.
The youngsters met all the professional dancers, judges and celebrities on the show, on which their own dance tutors AJ Pritchard and Chloe Hewitt have recently begun as professionals.
Gemma said: “We watched the dance while it was happening, and then the BBC showed them the footage in their own green room.
“It was amazing to watch, the most emotional thing I had seen. It brought a tear to my eye.
“They didn’t seem to get nervous, they made the experience for the kids magical, and of course everything sparkled with glitter.”
